Offer to members - book on ICL History
27 September 2005
News about the offer and the book: ICL - a Business and technical History

The Book

The official history of the company is a book by Martin Campbell-Kelly – first published in 1990.

It is now available again – having been out of print in recent years.

The book is recommended reading for all ICL people.

Virgilio Pasquali has recently commented –
“My experience is that each of us thinks he knows the ICL history, but in fact our views are only partial and parochial, without the perception of the total picture. I certainly expanded my overall and strategic understanding of ICL position in reading it, though I did not think I needed to before I started.
This book expands the overall understanding of our ICL history, and of the history of the UK computer industry.”

The Offer

We have arranged for ICL pensioners who are registered members on this website to be able to buy this book at a 20% discount, direct from the publishers.
For more details of the book, and of how to order, log on to the members area, and see the noticeboard entry on the welcome page. A link is given to the OUP website.
