A notice is being sent along with this year’s Summary Funding Statement to all pensioners with pensions in payment. Do take time to read that, and consider who you would like to represent the interests of pensioners. The term of office for the three current pensioner representatives of the ICL Pension Members Committee (IPMC) ends in August 2008. The Company is therefore seeking representatives for the next four years.

The IPMC is the forum at which the Company discusses the operation of the Plan with representatives of its members. The role of IPMC has recently been revised and a document on that can be read in the members area.

The role of the pensioner representatives is to represent the interests of all the ICL Plan pensioners, and to communicate with those they represent.

Previously elections have been held for pensioner representatives. This time the Company is proposing a selection process which will not involve an election.

The existing pensioner representatives have not all agreed to this selection process, and comments from two of the representatives can be read in the members area – on the page for pensioner representative topics.

If you feel that you or a pensioner colleague could represent pensioners on this consultative body, do talk to other pensioners. You can use the directory relay message facility to contact other pensioners, and the contact facility to contact existing pensioner representatives. To apply use the `Expression of Interest’ document in the members area - note this is a Word document that can be completed electronically and submitted by Email or on paper. Applications need to be submitted before the end of August.
