Selection of Pensioner Representatives
29 September 2008
Results of the selection process - four pensioner representatives appointed.

The following have been selected to serve as pensioner representatives on the ICL Pension Members Committee (IPMC) for the next four years. A profile and contact details for each will be posted on this web site shortly.

Dik Leatherdale

Colin Marshall

Hilary Robinson

Alan Thomson

Ten pensioners submitted an Expression of Interest Form. Six were taken forward on a shortlist to meet the Selection Panel on 26th September. Of the previous pensioner representatives only Colin Marshall sought reselection; Andy McConachie and Rod Scott did not stand.

The selection was made by the Company Panel of Brett Hollins and Dai Waters, Chairman and Secretary of the IPMC respectively. Graham Smith, representing the IPMC active members, was also present. Graham asked the candidates questions and was able to answer, from a representative’s viewpoint, questions they had about the IPMC but he did not take part in the final selection discussion.

The criteria for the Panel selection were:

- networking ability and contacts with pensioner groups

- experience/time as a pensioner and awareness of pensioner issues

- understanding of the role

- experience of representing others

- interest and time commitment

- knowledge of pensions

Having considered each candidate against these criteria the Panel decided to appoint four pensioner representatives, an increase of one over the previous representation.
