Website News - Monthly Update
16 January 2009
Monthly update about content changes, site usage, and other information.

We publish a monthly update around the time the pensioner payslips are sent out.

Information and Content added to the website in the last month:

  • Topical comments from pensioner representatives have been published in the Representative Topics page in the Members Area. Thanks to Dik Leatherdale for these.
  • A presentation was given to the BCS/CCS on 15th January on the ICL - Fujitsu technology collaboration by Tom Hinchliffe and John Vernon. This presentation covered the development of the S3L and DM1 mainframes using advanced Fujitsu chip technology in the early 1980's. All present agreed that this had been an outstanding engineering achievement in the UK computer industry at the time, and should be recognised in computer history.
  • The page in the members area listing deaths has been updated to show deaths reported in the last month (9). Note that page also has a link to a retrospective list which brings together previously published information on deaths of ICL people from 1995 onwards.

Members - 3922 are now registered.
